Read One Piece Manga Chapter 611

Summary:

In the port city of Coral Hill, Sanji wakes up after receiving donor blood. He asks where she is and Camie tells him she’s at her friend’s house. Chopper collapses face first onto the bed and says how happy he is to have found donor blood. Confused by Chopper’s talk about blood, Sanji sits up and asks what happened. Camie quickly tells him to lie down. Luffy, sprawled out in his chair, questions why no fishmen would help them when he said they were all over the island. Usopp continues saying that he thought Sanji was gone. Touched by his friends’ concern, Sanji thanks them. He then tries to remember what happened to put him in this state, but has trouble doing so. Luffy and Usopp beg him to stop remembering because he’s going to lose blood again and there’s nothing they could do to help him.
Usopp points to a curtain where only a hand is visible and says that they found the donor at the pub. Sanji hears a woman’s voice from behind the curtain. He then asks if they took blood from the frail lady. Usopp pulls back the curtain to reveal two eyes, the pirate twins Splash and Splatter. One of them even offers him more blood if necessary. Sanji screams, foaming at the mouth in shock. As Usopp tells Sanji to thank them, Chopper realizes that Luffy has been poisoned and notices the entry point on his arm. Chopper is amazed at how Luffy had no reaction at all to such a deadly poison and that he already had antibodies to counter it. Luffy remembers that Magellan’s poisons nearly killed him in Impel Down and cites this as the reason for his immunity. Luffy remembers a merman with a sword and squid legs and credits it with poison, saying he seems strong.
The scene then changes to the merman in question. It carries the unconscious bodies of Hammond and an unnamed ally. The man Luffy was talking about is named Hyouzou, a poisonous blue-ringed sea octopus and an assassin for the New Fish-Man Pirates. Hyouzou hears a scream coming from the bay. She just thinks it’s noisy how mermaids have fun. The mermaid says the scream came from Ihilly’s group. Another mermaid said she heard it from where she was and that Ihilly mentioned something about opening a barrel. The barrel in question was the barrel that held Caribou as a prisoner. It is now broken with no signs of Caribou.
The scene changes to the back of the Mermaid Cafe. Camie talks to her boss, Madam Shyarly, who inquired about Sanji’s health. Camie thanks her for letting them borrow the room and then asks Madam Shyarly not to go after Sanji because she is beautiful and therefore dangerous to Sanji. He also asks her to keep it a secret from Sanji that she is in the back of the Mermaid Cafe. Camie tells her that Chopper told her that they would be in big trouble if Sanji found out where she was. Madam Shyarly comments on the irregularity of Chopper and Camie’s requests. Luffy and Usopp find Shyarly’s crystal ball, which tells them not to touch them. Camie explains to them that Shyarly is a fortune teller and is quite famous.
However, Shyarly states that he is retired because the future is better left unknown. Luffy then asks her “So what, do mermaids poop?” and Usopp asks why he used “so” in his question. This angers Shyarly, who calls Luffy a vulgar child. Camie quickly told him to apologize, which he did. Shyarly then tells Camie to take the rest of the day off and show her friends around the island. She says she doesn’t have to worry about the influx of human pirate customers as she has enough hired help to handle the crowd. The “star” part of the word “start” made Camie think back to Pappago and how she had to deliver the clams to him. Shyarly tells her that Pappag is in the cafe making a fuss about some old friend of his.
After leaving the room, Camie tells the Straw Hats about some of Madam Shyarly’s famous predictions, such as predicting the Great Age of Pirates a year ahead. She also accurately predicted the war at Marineford and Whitebeard’s death. Because of her accuracy in predicting disasters, she came to hate her ability to see the future. He takes them to the main street of Coral Hill and to the entrance of the Mermaid Cafe. When Luffy stated how hungry he was, Camie said that they had pies, seafood, and shellfish, but no meat in the sense that Luffy thought. Usopp tries to distract Luffy from his bitterness over the lack of meat by reminding him that Pappag is inside.
The friend Pappag was talking about turned out to be Brook. Pappag was happy to see Luffy and Usopp. Brook has a mermaid on either side. One of them kisses him on the cheek, tells him to come back soon, and says that the whole time he was there was like a dream come true. After telling them he’ll be back, the brook launches into a bunch of bone jokes, body jokes, and already dead jokes. Usopp was surprised by Brook’s excitement. Pappag interrupts and says he was going to show Brook his property.
Pappag tempts Luffy with sea monster meat, saying that it is a staple of his diet and that he always has plenty of it at home. Camie gives him an Orient clam which pleases the starfish. Usopp was confused because it was a mollusk. Camie explained that fish men can eat meat and fish while mermaids cannot. Luffy is relieved to hear that there is meat on the island after all. As they hail a cab, Brook notices Vander Decken’s wanted poster. Pappag was surprised that the crew met him, he told them that he was like a bandit at the bottom of the sea and the whole country had been searching for him for years. He then tells them to get into a taxi.
Pappag explained that it started with Vander Decken IX sending a letter to the Mermaid Princess once a week. The letters eventually became packages that eventually became threatening marriage proposals. The princess was too scared to continue ignoring him. Camie joins in, adding that her father, King Neptune, got angry and had his three sons form an army. They searched for him without success. Pappag tries to cut her off and says he was just explaining.
Camie sums it up by saying that the mermaid princess is the younger sister of the three princes and King Neptune is the father of all four. Brook then says he wants to hear how Vander Decken, a pirate who was cursed hundreds of years ago, plays into it. Pappag explained that legends tend to be exaggerated, but that the “mad captain” known as Vander Decken did exist. Legend said he came to Fish-Man Island and died. The ship they saw was the real Flying Dutchman, but the captain was his grandson (Camie interrupts again here to complete the story and leave Pappag in despair), the Vander Decken IX. Brook makes another joke about how Vander Decken’s vision nearly scared the life out of him.
Luffy then redirects the conversation by pointing out how the mermaid has split fins similar to Kokoro’s. He asks Camie if this is what her fins will look like when she reaches the age of 30, to which she says yes. Luffy then sees a fish man dad with an older fish man child and a sea child. Luffy remarked how amusing the variety of sizes and colors of each species was. Pappag explains that when a Pisces man and a Mermaid marry, they can have a child who is a Merman/maid or a Pisces man/woman, so there are four types of patterns. As they are about to hit the highway, Luffy asks about something in the distance.
Pappag replies that it’s a candy factory. Luffy asks why he has a pirate flag on him. Pappag tells him that the similar one is at the entrance to the harbor, as the island is now under the protection of Charlotte Linlin, aka Big Mom, the Emperor. Pappag explains that after the war, Big Mom started protecting the island because Whitebeard died. In return for his protection, he demands a large amount of sweets every month. Camie explains that the island is so dangerous that they need something big to protect it or the government wouldn’t be able to function. Luffy thinks Big Mom must be nice for choosing to protect Fish-Man Island. Pappag said that Whitebeard does not require collateral and that Big Mom may be looking at it from a business perspective. Luffy says that he is one of the four emperors, like Shanks, and wonders if he will ever meet her.
Their taxi then arrives at Gyoverly Hills, where everyone is amazed at the size of Pappag’s house. Back at Coral Hill, Madame Shyarly makes a scene outside and says something is going to be catastrophic. Everyone asks her what’s wrong. He tells them to go find the Straw Hat Pirate (Luffy) and immediately send him out of the country. The man asks what’s going on and if she saw anything in her crystal ball. Shyarly explains that she didn’t want to see it, but she felt something about Luffy that made her look into the future. He puts his head in his hands and says he hopes he’s wrong. Fortune predicted that Fish-Man Island would be destroyed by Luffy’s hand.
