Summary:
The chapter begins with the onlookers taunting Luffy and the others. Nami yells at them to fight and not only do they stand there, but Sarquiss notes that they are smart enough to know not to fight Bellamy. Bellamy’s crew talk about how the Marines are nice these days to give so much money for a loser like Luffy. Nami doesn’t understand why Luffy and Zoro won’t buy the fight. Both are injured and bleeding from top to bottom. Bellamy further insults the two pirates and spits his drink on them, but they still refuse to fight. Bellamy says his eye hurts and he’s hurt them again. Nami rushes to their side and Sarquiss tells her that being with them will eventually destroy her, so she asks if he could buy her from them. He asks how old she would be, but Nami glares at them and says she’s too good for a team of losers like them. Sarquiss remarks that she is one dear woman, and everyone in the bar laughs that the whole crew is crazy. Bellamy tells the “little fry” to leave. Nami drags them out of the shop, eyes full of tears as they all taunt them.
Nami suddenly hears someone say that the sky island exists. He’s the man from the shop earlier. He questions why Nami is sad when there is nothing to be sad about; that Luffy and Zoro won this fight. Luffy has a small flashback of him telling Shanks and Ace that he would surpass them one day. She also tells Nami that she definitely has the guts to say the things she did at the store. Luffy and Zoro get up. The man says that the “New Age” he’s talking about is nonsense and shouts that the age where pirates dream will never end; that people’s dreams are endless. At the store, Bellamy’s crew thinks Luffy and Zoro are causing a crazy ruckus outside and laugh that it’s lame. Back outside, as the man continues his speech, everyone wonders why he is shouting so loudly. The man says some fights are no fist fights and laughs. Zoro starts to walk away and Luffy stares at the man. The man also leaves and wishes them good luck on their journey to Sky Island. Luffy turns away and Nami tells Luffy that maybe she knows about Sky Island and wonders who it is. Luffy doesn’t know, but at the same time adds that it’s not “him”. Nami is confused. Zoro says it’s probably “them”. Nami doesn’t understand and asks if he has a crew or something, but they don’t answer. The man laughs and says his rum tastes good today.
Meanwhile, the rest of the crew repairs the ship. Sanji says they should get a new ship, which angers Usopp. Usopp says that the ship is important and that’s why he’s always fixing it and yells at Sanji to help, but Sanji says it’s more of a patch than a fix. Usopp tells them to shut up and makes a weird face and Chopper thinks it’s funny so he tells Usopp to do it again and they say goodbye. When Sanji asks what they want for dinner, Usopp and Chopper both sneer and tell him to shut up, so Sanji says, “Oh, you don’t want to, do you?” to their shock. Suddenly he hears a strange chant saying “Salvage, Salvage” and sees a ship asking what that was. The chapter ends with a scared Chopper and Usopp saying “this song is…!!”
