Summary:
Dr. Hiriluk falls into Wapol’s trap. He gives a death speech and commits suicide. Chopper arrives and angrily attacks Wapol, but Dalton intercedes. Dalton defies Wapol by letting Chopper escape, inspired by the creatures’ determination.
Chopper asks Kureha to train him to be a doctor, saying that his dream is to cure all diseases. The flashback ends showing Luffy finishing his punch to Wapolo’s face that he started from chapter 141.
Dr. Hiriluk arrives at the castle to heal Isshi-20, only for Wapol to reveal that it was a trap to catch the rebellious doctor. As Wapol laughs and mocks the Doctor, Dalton questions why the Doctor fell into such an obvious trap. Chess and Kuromarimo laugh alongside their king as Wapolo’s troops target the doctor. Instead of collapsing, Hiriluk drops to his knees, grateful that the Isshi-20 are okay. Dalton is very shocked. Hiriluk refuses to be shot by the royal soldiers saying that he will die soon.
Chopper is shown running in an attempt to stop Hiriluk, who gives a speech about his death, stating that he will only die if he is forgotten. Noticing that Dalton is crying, she starts to pour herself a drink. He shares the pain of the false doctor for this sick country. Hiriluk explains that he lived happily and that his mission is accomplished: the land will be healed by those who remember him, if not by him. He then drank a drink that was a dangerously explosive substance and committed suicide.
Chopper arrives to find Hiriluk’s hat floating on the ground, the only remaining part of the deceased doctor. Wapol laughs at the doctor’s death, angering Chopper and causing the reindeer to attack. While he is targeted by soldiers who see him as a monster, Dalton intervenes and begs him to leave. Too weak to fight back at all, Dalton tells Chopper not to end up as another sacrifice for this country. Angered by Dalton’s reaction to letting the “monster” escape despite his orders to kill him and his clear defiance of him, Wapol threatens the guard commander with what would happen if he “really pisses him off” as the two prepare to fight.
Meanwhile, Chopper reached the house of Dr. Kurehy and raised Hiriluka’s flag. He asks her to help him become a doctor who will be able to cure every disease in the world.
Back at the castle, Wapol has defeated Dalton and is trying to negotiate with the guard commander. Dalton denies the request, saying that he will not stop until peace is restored to the land. Dalton just laughs and says that he is the most powerful person.
The flashback ends and goes back to the scene where Luffy punches Wapolo in the face.
