Summary:

Luffy tries to use Arlong’s teeth against him, but he doesn’t have the strength to use them like a fish man. Arlong then begins to overpower Luffy with his teeth and nose, but Luffy does not back down and vows to destroy his nose.
Arlong gets angry at Luffy for using his crewmate as a shield, but Luffy retorts that the fishman did the same to his enemies. Johnny and Yosaku state that Luffy said he had an idea to defeat Arlong, and they and Sanji wonder what it is. Arlong attacks Luffy by snapping his teeth in his hands, but Luffy dodges his lunges and kicks him in the jaw, sending another set of teeth flying out. When Arlong grows another set, he reminds Luffy that it’s pointless to break his teeth, but Luffy places the fishman’s teeth in his own mouth instead, and Johnny and Yosaku are horrified that it was his idea. Offended, Arlong manages to deliver a small bite to Luffy’s shoulder, though it results in him melodramatically rolling on the ground in pain. Johnny and Yosaku yell at Luffy to stop playing, but Luffy denies their accusations. He then blocks another blow from Arlong with a large piece of rock, but Arlong’s power causes Luffy to fall backwards. Arlong then sinks a set of teeth into Luffy’s side, but Luffy quickly reacts by biting Arlong’s shoulder with the fishman’s own teeth.
The two fighters separate, the teeth that Luffy used remain in Arlong’s arm and Luffy laughs at how he hurt Arlong with his own teeth. However, Arlong, tearing his teeth from his shoulder, says that Luffy’s jaws are too weak to do any real damage, and tries to demonstrate the true strength of the shark’s jaw as he bites into Luffy’s right arm at the elbow. Luffy manages to counter by throwing Arlong to the ground, allowing him to release the stunned fishman’s jaws and free his arm. The two lie motionless on the ground for a moment. Genzo says that Luffy could have lost his arm if he had been trapped a second longer. Arlong gets up first, noticing that Luffy’s throw was enough to draw blood. Meanwhile, Luffy rips his teeth out of his side, but when he stands up, he notices that Arlong has disappeared. Usopp yells at Luffy that Arlong went into the water, though Luffy initially mistakes his exposed fin for a real shark. Under the surface, Arlong says that no one can match his underwater speed as he launches out of the water like a torpedo, with Luffy narrowly avoiding a fatal blow but still being hit hard enough to spin away. Arlong breaks through the tower wall as Luffy crashes to the ground. Arlong is surprised that Luffy was able to avoid him, but notes that it will only delay the inevitable. He then uses the same attack again and Luffy dodges it causing his nose to sink into the ground with no ill effect on the fish man. Sanji is shocked at how strong his nose is, and Arlong uses the attack twice more, both of which successfully graze Luffy before returning underwater. As Luffy tries to get up, his allies yell at him to run before Arlong can attack again, but Luffy refuses and stands in front of the pool, declaring that he will catch Arlong and break his nose.
