Summary:

Luffy refuses to back down from a hostile Sanji, causing Sanji to confront him and attack him with Diable Jambe. Despite Sanji’s vicious attacks, Luffy refuses to fight back or back down, and Nami begs Sanji to stop to no avail. In the end, Sanji kicks Luffy out of the air and returns to his family. Luffy yells at Sanji as he leaves, saying that he will stay in this place and not eat until Sanji returns because he cannot become the Pirate King without Sanji. This causes Sanji to break down in tears as he is taken to Big Mom.Sanji remembered Judge’s threats on his hands and Zeff during his return to the Germ Kingdom and stared at Luffy in shock as his captain rushed towards him. Luffy took the carriage to speak directly to Sanji, and with everything going against him racing through his head, Sanji decided to kick Luffy out and claim that he had left the Straw Hats and accepted his royal heritage as Prince Vinsmoke Sanji. Sanji claims that he will be happier in the ranks of the Big Mom Pirates, where he will be given power and luxury as opposed to the meager existence of the Straw Hats. He says that he’s been looking down on Luffy and his crew members all along, and he’s willing to prove it when he activates Diable Jambe. He then lunges at the motionless Luffy and kicks him in the face, knocking him away.

Luffy once again confronts Sanji, who says that he should use Haki if he wants to live. Luffy replies that he doesn’t need Haki if he just wants to talk to Sanji, and Sanji tells Luffy to leave in that case. Luffy refuses and Sanji calls him selfish as he punches Luffy again. Luffy gets up and Nami begs Sanji to stop, saying that Luffy pushed himself to the limit against Cracker just to get this far. However, Luffy shuts Nami up and says it’s a duel. Sanji then overwhelms Luffy with many kicks, but much to Luffy’s annoyance, he refuses to back down or fall. Finally, Sanji has finally had enough and prepares to deliver the final blow. He turns to ignite Diable Jambe again before taking off with Sky Walk, spinning in a circle of fire as he falls towards Luffy. He slams his heel into the top of Luffy’s head with deadly force, and Luffy initially tries to resist it, but eventually succumbs to the power and falls unconscious.

Sanji returns to the carriage as Luffy lies on the ground bleeding and a distraught Nami rushes to Luffy. She then walks over to Sanji and slaps him, grimly apologizing for coming to save him before leaving. Sanji returns to his seat next to his preoccupied brothers, and as the carriage pulls away, Luffy regains consciousness and calls out to Sanji. He says that he knows Sanji is performing and that Sanji was the one who was actually hurt by all the kicks he unleashed. Luffy states that he cannot go on his journey to become the Pirate King without Sanji, so he will wait in this place and not eat anything until Sanji returns. Luffy’s words cause Sanji to break down in tears and his brothers laugh at him as he heads out of Luffy’s sight. A montage of Sanji’s time with the crew is then shown as Luffy is shown lying in a clearing.
