Summary:
The terrible history of Sanji’s family continues to unfold. With Reiju’s help, he manages to escape. His father discovers him outside his cell but allows him to leave. Sanji goes to Orbit, leaving the Germ Kingdom behind.
Ichiji, Niji, Yonji and Reijiu continue their training by fighting the Germa 66 soldiers. The scientist along with Vinsmoke Judge says that they are evolving very quickly and describes them as true superhumans. When the Vinsmoke siblings took down the designated soldiers for training, Judge called them over and congratulated them on doing well.
Meanwhile, Sanji was imprisoned for six months. The cooks there were curious because they prepared luxurious meals every day, but they had no idea where it was going, and they were scolded by the old cook not to be curious about it.
The Germian guard brought Sanji food and loosened his iron mask so he could eat. While he was eating, a rat comes in and appears to be hungry, and Sanji offers him a portion of beef steak. The rat expresses excitement as he eats, but then Sanji remembers how his father scolded him that royalty must not serve anyone and not follow his mother’s legacy because she is dead.
Sanji remembers when he was in the kitchen and cut his fingers and spilled some blood. The old cook asks him if he was all right and tells him that the king told them not to let him go into the kitchen. Sanji begs the old cook to let him stay.
After he finished organizing the food, he went outside despite the rainy weather. While walking, the German guard asks him why he is walking alone, and he replies that he is going to see his mother. However, the Germ guard replies that the weather is bad and the medical ward is too far, but Sanji in return says that he can handle it. As Sanji continued walking, he noticed that he wasn’t supposed to tell his father as he was slipping due to the slippery floor.
In the middle of his walk through the medical ward, a dog blocks his path and appears to be heading for Sanji’s food. He manages to fend her off and makes it to the medical ward when a maid catches sight of her through the window. Sanji paused, the maid leaves and brings him inside.
There, Sanji presented the food to the maid, and it seems that he is already too damaged due to the earlier incidents. The maid says they don’t want to let the queen have stomach trouble. Even so, the maid half says she might like it and tries it, only to squeal in disgust.
Sanji came to his mother’s room along with the maid delivering the food and said it was from Sanji. Sanji’s mother asks him if he did it for her, and he agrees, but his fingers wiggle. The Queen calls out to Eponi, telling her not to be presumptuous and bring what Sanji actually made for her. Eponi replies that she already threw it in the trash because it was damaged on the way to the medical ward, but the Queen retorts that that was obviously a lie. The maid delivers it and Sanji apologizes to his mother for tripping and getting it wet in the rain on the way. His mother tries it and says it was good. She asks if he can cook for her again, and Sanji happily agrees. But she died.
Back in his cell, Sanji requested a cookbook and some cooking utensils, and while practicing his cooking, he read something in his book about All Blue. Later, Ichiji, Niji, and Yonji discovered Sanji and entered his cage to beat him up, with Reiju standing nearby. After their brothers left, she tended to Sanji’s injuries, though she said she wasn’t on his side because she didn’t want to be a target as well. Reiju said that the modifications done to their bodies made her brothers incapable of empathy, though they did not affect her in the same way. She then revealed to Sanji that they were going to cross the red line to get to East Blue and have some wars there. Sanji was thrown into the wall as the ships comprising the Germ Kingdom split up and climbed the red line, and as his brothers waited, Sanji revealed to Reiju that he wanted to become a chef, and a shocked Reiju told him to stop. telling her such things.
In East Blue, the people of Cozia noticed Germa 66’s presence and attacked them, while Judge continued the onslaught of his troops. Sanji asked Reiju if he would need to be near his father if he escaped to East Blue, and Reiju told him to back off as she bent the bars of his cell. She then ran off, reminding Sanji that he would only get one chance to escape. When Germa 66 began its invasion of Cozie, Sanji searched for the key to free him from his iron mask, but was caught by the judge. Sanji drew his dagger as he told his father that no one was going to stop him from leaving. The judge expressed his disappointment at Sanji’s unruly behavior and told him that since he was now a commoner, he would surely die out in the world. However, the Judge then states that he was glad to hear that, as his humanity prevented him from killing Sanji, but Sanji, now leaving, will grant his wish to remove his weak son. Judge then asked Sanji to never identify himself as his descendant, as he is the only thing he is ashamed of. This caused Sanji to roar. Outside, the Germa 66 soldiers turned their attention to the cruise ship in the harbor but left it alone as it was unrelated to their mission. After removing the iron mask, Sanji and Reiju stand outside and Reiju tells Sanji to get on the ship and leave his old life behind, saying that one day he will meet people who will treat him the way he deserves to be treated . She finally told him not to look back as he tearfully ran to the ship.
