Summary:

Luffy manages to defeat Prodi, Bonham, and Zappa in his quest to get off Fron Island. However, he is once again confronted by Grount, who breaks the attachment on his left arm to reveal a large, hairy, gorilla-like red arm. After training his entire life to control it, Grount holds his immense power against Luffy, but after a titanic battle, Luffy finally manages to overpower and defeat him. As Sanji’s rescue team finally leaves Fron Island, Grount laughs and notes that Luffy was a worthy opponent. On the Thousand Sunny, Sanji’s rescue team eats all the rations taken from the base in ten minutes.

Prodi confronts Sanji’s rescue team on the coast of Fron Island to defeat them in order to maintain the reputation of their base’s strength, which they need for the operation against Big Mom. If he fails, he will likely be demoted and transferred to a new island where he will be forced to retire without the required pension amount. Sanji’s rescue team is surprised by his intentions, but they stay away, knowing they can escape once they get into the Shark Submerge III. Brook waves to his crew members from a nearby submarine, but Prodi points his bazooka at the submarine and fires at it, engulfing it and Brook in a large explosion. Sanji’s rescue team is shocked by this move, and Prodi confronts them, telling Luffy that he fought Garp evenly with his bazooka. Prodi then fires his bazooka at the team, but they avoid the blast by jumping down onto the beach where Prodi and his soldiers are. As the marines try to attack them, Nami tries to hit them with Thunderbolt Tempo, but they escape the attack unscathed using their shields. Carrot’s Electro attacks are also ineffective, and the Marines reveal that their shields are covered in rubber. However, Nami simply uses Gust Sword to blast them and overpower them with Mirage Tempo, Chopper easily overpowers them with Kung Fu Point, and Carrot kicks the Marine without Electro. Meanwhile, Prodi fires his bazooka at Luffy and Luffy dodges the explosions.

Back at the food warehouse, Bonham, Zappa and Grount see and hear the aftermath of a massive collision on the coast. Bonham and Zappa prepare to go to the coast and face the pirates again, but Grount has no motivation to move and says sullenly that he is too weak. Bonham and Zappa angrily berate him for his cowardice, reminding him of what they learned to do under Aokiji. Back on shore, Luffy defeats Prodi with a Gear 2 attack, and Bonham and Zappa watch in shock as they arrive. The two marines confront Luffy and the pirates again, with Bonham using Qigong to bulk him up and Zappa drawing his swords. Meanwhile, Grount continues to sit by the food warehouse, whispering Aokiji’s name as he remembers meeting the Admiral. A few years ago, the island exploded with a shock wave as the young Grount screamed and held a giant furry red left arm. Meanwhile, Aokiji was riding towards the island on his bike, and seeing the chaos on it, he decided to go there and investigate. There he saw Grount amidst the ruins of a large city and asked him if he had caused all the damage. Grount then revealed his giant left arm and attacked Aokiji with it, unable to control it and crying for it to be cut off. Aokiji managed to dodge his blows and eventually incapacitated Grount by freezing his left arm. Years later, Grount trained under Aokiji with Bonham and Zappa, his left arm now encased in a metal brace. He asked Aokiji why he couldn’t go out and fight yet, and the admiral replied that he wasn’t ready yet and still didn’t have full control of his power. Aokiji then told him to keep training to prepare for when he would face strong opponents, and in the present day, Grount realizes that now could be the moment Aokiji was talking about.

Back on shore, Bonham and Zappa are defeated by Luffy’s Jet Gatling, and Brook reveals that he and Submerge are perfectly fine after Prodi’s attack. However, before Sanji’s rescue team can escape, Grount jumps out and attacks Luffy. Grount tells Bonham and Zappa to leave the fight to him as steam begins to blow from his left arm attachment. Eventually, the attachment disintegrates, revealing Grount’s monstrous left arm, which he now has full control over. Bonham and Zappa are ecstatic that Grount has accomplished this, and Grount attacks Luffy, managing to overpower him with just the power of his left arm. Luffy activates Gear 3, allowing him to fight on par with Grount. Grount eventually manages to send Luffy flying up, but Luffy keeps his equipment in Haki 3 as he unleashes the Thor Elephant Gun, and he and Grount clash with their large fists. A monstrous clash rocks the coast, and the two fighters are momentarily at a stalemate until Luffy finally gains a foothold. Eventually, Luffy manages to overpower Grount and punch him in the face, causing him to crash onto the beach.

Grount wakes up moments later with Bonham and Zappa by his side. Grount asks them where Luffy is, but they reveal that he and his crew left right after. However, Grount just laughs as Luffy truly deserves the 500,000,000 Beli reward and promises his friends to win the next time they meet the pirates. Meanwhile, Sanji’s rescue team sets sail for the Thousand Sunny, but to Nami’s horror, they have already eaten all the food they stole. Most of it was consumed by Pedro and Pekoms, who starved for hours on the ship, but the crew who went to the island and ate there also feasted on the rations.
