Summary:

Enraged at the humiliation of having his prisoners escape and in his lab, Caesar Clown orders the passage between building A and B to be closed and Shinokuni let in to kill the intruders. However, Vergo decided to take care of them himself. Chopper, who was eavesdropping, has snuck in and is trying to find his way to the kids in the labyrinth that is the lab.

Luffy, Smoker, and Law were the first to cross the gate before an alarm sounded, signifying that the gate was beginning to close. Tashigi instead heard the alarm and quickly ordered the G-5 Marines to release the Straw Hats and rush to the closing gate. When the wall in Building A was blown out, Shinokuni petrified some of the marines while the rest sped their escape. The Straw Hats and most of the marines made it through the security of the gate, but a few remained to help Tashigi cross before the gate closed and were lost in the poison gas as their captain looked on in horror.

Angered that they had survived, Caesar vowed that no one would escape this laboratory alive.

While watching the broadcast of his experiment, Caesar Clown comments that there is no room left for anything to survive on Punk Hazard. However, he notices that the G-5 Marines are missing outside the building and notices that he doesn’t see the Straw Hats, the Smoker, and the law in the cage. Monet, also watching, asks Vergo for his opinion and he says that since he doesn’t see anyone in the cage, they must have escaped. He adds that he might have to kill Law himself since it’s difficult to let him roam. Caesar asks if they’ve escaped, but just then one of his subordinates enters and informs the group that marines and pirates have infiltrated the lobby of Building A and are advancing. Caesar is impressed that they managed to escape and open the shutter, but his subordinate says that they are probably planning to escape through the interior exit. Chopper seizes the opportunity to dig himself out of the room and run down the hall, saying that he’s figured out how the drug is made and that he’s found the sedative. As Chopper wonders where to go, Monet seems to notice his departure, but doesn’t react.

Meanwhile, Caesar asks where his men are and is told that most of them are in Building B, preparing to fight. Caesar devises a plan to block the passage between buildings A and B, isolate A, then destroy the wall, let the Shinokuni in, and kill them all. Caesar’s subordinate panics and says that some of their men are still in the building, but Caesar doesn’t care. He also tells his subordinate to place a Den Den Mushi near the event so he can show the brokers the effectiveness of the weapon. Vergo tells Caesar that if Smoker and Law escape, he’ll be in trouble too. Because of this, he plans to eliminate the group himself. Vergo wonders where his sword is, but Monet tells him that he is not a swordsman. Virgo, when he remembers, he goes out.

Inside Building A, Luffy encounters the guard of Building B, “Machete” Run, and immediately defeats him with a kick with the Gear 2 upgrade. As Luffy fights his way through the guards, he notices a large metal door between Buildings A and B that closes. A smoker who has just arrived notices the beeping and asks Law what it means. Law tells him that the doors are starting to close and that Caesar wants to trap them in Building A. Near the front of the building, the G-5 Marines stand in front of the Straw Pirates, Kin’emon and Brownbeard. Impatient, Brook, Zoro and Kin’emon burst through and are followed by the rest of the group and Vegapunk’s dragon. The marines continue to attack, but Zoro charges back, only to be blocked by Tashigi. Tashigi tells the marines that now is not the time to fight and that they should focus on getting to the next building. Seeing the doors begin to close, the Marines picked up their pace, carrying the wounded as they went. Caesar’s soldiers notice Brownbeard carrying the Straw Hats and are surprised that he hasn’t betrayed them as they all rush to escape the building.

Outside the lab, a cannon is fired that breaks through the wall of Building A, allowing the poisonous gas to seep inside. The Straw Hats barely escape with their lives and Tashigi is thrown in by her own troops. Tashigi tries to run back, but the gate is already closing, leaving some marines petrified by the gas. However, these Marines pose in stances and encourage their allies to keep going. Caesar, seeing that they have survived, declares that he will not let anyone escape.
