Summary:

Hody Jones announces the takeover of the Ryugu kingdom by executing King Neptune as the start of his new reign. Hody also announces that he will kill the straw pirates to serve as an example to all humans on the surface. Shirahoshi tries to go save her father but was stopped by Jinbe and Hatchan. Luffy also tries to leave to face Hody and save his crew, but Jinbe won’t let him, causing them to face off in a duel.

Hody Jones broadcasts his broadcast so that the entire island can hear his plans for what to do with the other islanders. He announces that he will be the new king of the island and that there have been some changes. As the other citizens are forced to step on Otohime’s face in the picture, they wonder why Hody is doing this as they remember him shooting Otohime’s gunner. Hody says that humans shouldn’t be willing to migrate with humans because they are responsible for killing Otohime and demands to know why they don’t understand, claiming that the Neptune family is leading them to their deaths. He reveals that King Neptune is being held hostage and his plans: in three hours he will take the worthless king’s head to Gyoncorde Plaza. Hody then goes through a list of people who support Otohime’s cause, calling it a list of traitors and plans to end the people who step on her face to stop because it’s too easy to tell who’s lying and who’s telling the truth, and claims he’s going out and kills all the people listed on the papers who support Otohime. He then makes a final statement that is directed at the straw pirates, revealing that he has Zoro, Usopp, and Brook held hostage and will drown them in three hours, planning to take Luffy’s head to the world as an example to scare the public and terminate the crew for quitting Arlong’s ambitions. Neptune expresses his disgust towards Hody, calling him selfish, while Hody says it’s okay because a king is allowed to be selfish. Fukaboshi and his brothers, who have been watching, declare that they will stop Hody. At the palace, Usopp asks Zoro to save them and Zoro just calmly asks him to unchain him and that doesn’t work as he tries to wish them away. Brook jokes about how he scared the crew when they thought he was dead, only to have Zoro and Usopp yell at him that if he just played dead, they’d run. Zoro says that since Nami escaped, they can be saved and Usopp just mocks Robin about what might happen to Nami while Brook laughs.

In the Sea Forest, Robin is seen reading the Poneglyph, noting how different it is from all the others she’s read so far, and how it’s in the form of an apology letter. She wonders who the Joy Boy whose name was on the Poneglyph was. With Luffy’s group, Luffy is happy with the reward increase while Nami berates him. Jinbe wishes to come up with a plan, and Shirahoshi tries to leave with Megalo to save her father, only to be stopped by Jinbe. Hachi explains to Shirahoshi about her abilities and how Hody is afraid of her, while Shirahoshi is unsure of his abilities. Luffy decides to fight Hody, only for Jinbe to stop him and tell him that since they are human, the fishmen will hate them even more and tells him to leave it to him. Luffy refuses because his crew is in trouble and he won’t just do nothing, and if Jinbe wants to stop him, he’ll have to fight him. Jinbe realizes that he is right, and since he is Ace’s younger brother, they prepare to fight.
