Summary:

Inside the Flower Capital Castle, Raizo and Shinobu are nursed back to health by Miyagi and Tristan, while Kin’emon is forced to admit that Ryokugyu had a good point when he mentioned Kaidou’s presence keeping the enemies at bay. He apologizes to the patients for not being there before Nekomamushi brushes it off and asks Kin’emon how Tsurujo has been. Kin’emon explains that she is safe and sound with only a severe burn on her face, even though the town of Okobore burned down. He blushes as he acknowledges her beauty even after all these years, while Inuarashi, Kikunojo, and Raizo express their feelings about Kin’emon’s sentimentality. Meanwhile, in the remnants of Okobore City, Tsurujo and Chocho talk about Kin’emon’s return and how Tsurujo plans to move back to the Flower Capital so she can continue to be by her husband’s side.

Carrot is then summoned to the castle and is announced to be the new ruler of the Duchy of Mokomo, much to her shock. Inuarashi and Nekomamushi explain this decision by telling her that they decided to stay in Wano to serve Momonosuke and leave the next era in her and the others’ hands because of her experience at sea. Carrot disagrees, saying that there are so many people stronger than her, but Inuarashi and Wanda’s musketeer squad support this decision, stating that it is their job to protect their country and that most importantly, they carry Pedro’s will in their hearts.

Later, Kozuki Sukiyaki reveals himself to his grandchildren and the Pochevs, assuming that all the samurai knew as well (which was true except for Kin’emon, who inwardly expresses surprise at his survival). Sukiyaki tells them that he can teach them a few things, but he will mostly stay out of the public eye as he wants to leave the future to them. In another room, Franky and the rest of the Straw Hats learn from Robin that Pluton is indeed in Wano, but she hasn’t seen him yet. Robin asks Luffy if he wants to get it, and he declines, citing that he doesn’t need it, but Robin questions why Oden wanted to release it into the world. A youthful-looking woman then joins the conversation, who is revealed to be Shinobu, who regained her youthful form after the Ryokugyu attack. She is accompanied by Tama, who has become her kunoichi apprentice. Tama asks Luffy if she can join his crew and he agrees as she is a master of ninjutsu. Caribou, who has been eavesdropping nearby, is shocked by the truth about Pluton and must let a certain person know about it.

A few days later, the Flower Capital is bustling again. At the castle, Momonosuke bursts into the room to ask Zoro to teach him some sword techniques, but finds no one. He searches around the castle and learns from Hiyori and Toko that they have already left, saying goodbye to everyone except him and Kin’emon. In Udon’s Tokage Port, Luffy, Law, and Kid choose their next targets via Log Pose, with the first two separated as their alliance ended. Both Luffy and Kid decide to go east, while Law decides to go northeast, reasoning that it is the shortest way to reach the island. Luffy and Kid collect straws to decide who gets the middle log, and Luffy loses while rubbing Kid’s face, he is now the emperor even though he lost.

While on the subject of Emperors, Kid pulls out a flyer and expresses his strong opposition to Buggy and his new organization: the Cross Guild. With former Warlords Crocodile and Dracul Mihawk as his underlings, he became a powerful enough figure to earn the title of Emperor. Zoro expresses his disbelief that Mihawk would subordinate himself to anyone, and Luffy simply calls Buggy an idiot. Still, Kid reveals that he uses his company to reward members of the Marines, noting how much has changed in the outside world while they’ve been in Wano.

Law has Kid wipe the Wano’s Road Poneglyph and he reveals that his crew managed to collect one from Whole Cake Island some time ago. Killer states that in order to participate in the upcoming One Piece war, they need to find “the man with the burn”. Luffy questions him before Kid laughs as he tells Luffy that they now have an advantage over him and his crew.

Back at the castle, Momonosuke and Kin’emon are looking for Yamato, who was on the roof the whole time. He announces his intention to join the Straw Hats and live as Kozuki Oden.
