Summary:
Kaidou’s past is revealed. Raised in the Kingdom of Vodka, a kingdom forced to steal from other nations to afford membership in the World Government, he joined the military and became its most powerful asset at the age of ten. However, his king sold him against his will to the Marines so that he could participate in Levely.
Kaidou attacked the naval battleship carrying him and became wanted by the world government. When he became a wanted fugitive, he allowed himself to be captured by the authorities several times, eating food on battleships and escaping easily each time. He was eventually invited by Edward Newgate to the Rocks Pirates, further adding to the crew’s feared reputation.
However, the Rocks Pirates faced defeat in God Valley at the hands of Garp, killing Rocks and dismantling the crew. Kaidou created his own crew, the Beasts Pirates, who occupied the land of Wano after forming a coalition with the Kurozumi family. The Beasts Pirates sought to abolish the noble system of world government and create a world where prestige was determined by war.
In the present, the allied forces in the Skull Dome are working together to survive the flood created by Raiz. Meanwhile, with increased determination, Momonosuke successfully creates his own Flame Clouds and uses them to move Onigashima away from the Flower Capital.
In one final confrontation, Kaidou asks Luffy what kind of world he wanted to create. Luffy responds by stating that he would create a world where people could eat whatever they wanted. He breaks through Kaidou’s flame coating, then punches him with a Ryuo-infused fist, knocking him down. As his unconscious body falls into the abyss, Luffy and Momonosuke both rest having succeeded in their tasks. Kaidou recalls a previous conversation he had with King, where he claimed that Joy Boy himself would defeat him.
