Summary:
Dr. Ho wonders about Chopper’s skill at mixing medicine. As he walks by, Vivi notices that he was trained as a doctor on Drum Island. Dr. Ho notes that he was unaware of Chopper’s techniques despite having trained for 40 years himself. Chopper goes into his usual routine of responding to compliments with insults, but Dr. Ho translates them as recognition. Vivi tends to Luffy by a nearby bed and Karoo lies by the next bed.
Sanji and Usopp walk through the capital as it is being rebuilt, highlighting the resilience of the people in rebuilding. Sanji quickly leaves one area when he remembers that he caused a certain set of holes in a row of buildings. Zoro is elsewhere, working on his concentration by balancing boulders on his fists and trying to use his highest powers in the shortest amount of time. In the palace library, King Kobra encourages Nami to take as many books as she wants with her after the Straw Hats leave. Chaka and his guards hold off the marines who are searching for Luffy and Zoro, while Sanji and Usopp, who are not yet wanted, pass by unnoticed.
Luffy soon wakes up feeling much better. He looks for his hat, then quickly feels hungry and is conflicted between looking for his hat and looking for food. Usopp points to Luffy’s straw hat on the next bed; a soldier found her in the ruins. Luffy had no idea he was in bad shape when he was brought to the palace infirmary and thanks Chopper and Vivi for getting him back to health. Zoro enters and Luffy tells him “Long time no see” then he is confused why he says that. Chopper yells at Zoro for ignoring his advice to calm down. Luffy apparently slept for three days; he calculates that he missed 15 meals. A figure arrives sensing Luffy’s awakening. At first Zoro thinks it’s Igaram cross-dressing, but it’s actually his wife, Terracotta, the royal cook. Zoro notices how disturbingly similar she looks to Igarama. She personally oversees the banquet to thank Luffy for saving Vivi and her husband. Hearing about Luffy’s legendary appetite, she brought Luffy a large fruit tray to appease him before dinner. In a fraction of a second, it covers the entire tray. Terracotta looks forward to the challenge of feeding Luffy.
At the banquet that follows, the palace guards stand in disbelief as the Straw Hats themselves cut across the gorge, especially Luffy, who has a bad habit of eating food from other people’s plates. Sanji is concerned about how quickly Chopper is vacuuming up the pasta. Usopp puts the contents of one of his Tabasco no Boshi on a rice ball as a trick; Of course, Luffy eats it and spits fire. Sanji starts getting recipes from the servers. Vivi just laughs at the sight and soon the guards can’t help but laugh as the feast gets even more boisterous. Finally, this includes nose sticks. All the while, Terracotta cooks happily and accepts the challenge.
Later, Cobra invites the Straw Hats to the spa. Finally, Sanji asks Igarama to point him towards the ladies’ part of the bath so he can get a little peek. He takes offense, but Cobra himself points to a wall they can look through, even though his daughter is there. Nami and Vivi have that side of the tub to themselves, though it’s just as spacious and lavish as the men’s side. Nami wonders if the ship could carry such a bath. Vivi notices all the wonderful things they have seen on their journey together. As they are about to switch so that Nami can wash Vivi, they notice all the men looking over the wall; Luffy, Sanji, Usopp, Chopper, even Cobra and Igaram (only Zoro is missing). Nami has a simple solution. She stands, pulling a towel around herself, and tells the men that they each owe her Beli 100,000 for this. She then unleashes her most diabolical move: the Happiness Punch. She opens her towel and exposes her entire body to the guys. Everyone is stunned, getting a massive nosebleed and falling back onto their side, Sanji mutters.
With their bath back together, Nami notes that the Straw Hats might leave Arabasta that evening. There’s no reason for them to stay, and the Marines are probably already looking for them. This news scares Vivi. On the men’s side, Cobra does something unexpected when he bows to the Straw Hats. Igaram is concerned about his unroyal display of obeisance to another man, but Cobra notes that there is no such thing as a naked king. He thanks them as a resident of Arabasta for saving his kingdom and as a father for saving his daughter. Nami and Vivi hear Cobra’s gesture.
As night falls over the palace, Nami officially suggests that the others leave tonight. Zoro and Sanji agree with her reasoning. Luffy wants some more food, but Zoro says he has to leave immediately. Elsewhere in the palace, Chaka and Igaram received a new reward poster for Luffy and one for Zoro as well. Luffy’s bounty has been increased to 100,000,000 Beli and Zoro now has a bounty of 60,000,000 Beli. Igaram notes that Luffy cannot return after defeating one of the Seven Sea Warriors.
Later that night, Igaram runs to warn the Straw Hats, but they are gone, leaving only Vivi in their room. Vivi tells him that they have already left.
Elsewhere in Arabasta, two Marine Sergeants appear on a ship. One of them is Jango, who became a traitor to the pirate movement. The other is the Fullbody, which has apparently gained new traction among the Marines. They have taken down the pirate ship and are doing a victory dance. At a nearby dock, Hina is disappointed that their operation took so long. Another marine notes that all ports are blockaded, but the Going Merry has disappeared from Erumal. He orders the marines to search everywhere for their ship. Jango and Fullbody return to Hina. To their excitement, he orders them to start patrolling the Straw Hat Pirates.
The Straw Hats run across the desert on a group of riding ducks. Luffy still eats; Sanji says that he obtained some recipes and spices from Terracotta to prepare local dishes in the future. Chopper looks at Nami who is feeling down right now. Sanji suspects that he is thinking about Vivi. Nami says she’s down because she’s giving up the Beli1 ransom she originally extorted from Igaramu. Everyone is shocked that she feels down about giving up the money instead of leaving Vivi behind. Usopp ends up falling off the duck.
Igaram wants Vivi to go to the Straw Hats and warn them of their increased rewards, but Vivi knows that Karoo will never be able to catch them again. Vivi insists they will be fine and pushes Igaram out of the room so she can sleep. The next day he is to speak to the people of Arabasta. Igaram worries that she is too calm for that. Before going to bed, Vivi notes how quiet it is now that she’s away from the Straw Hats.
Earlier in the day, the Straw Hats received a call through Den Den Mushi from someone named “Bon-chan”. They recognize it as Bon Kurei. Luffy thinks what he wants. He claims that he took their boat to the upper Sandora River and that they are now friends. Zoro says they have no choice but to go to where he took their ship and keep an eye out for any tricks he has on them. Vivi gets their attention and asks what she should do. She is still not sure whether to stay or leave. Nami says they will get their ship and sail to the east port. If Vivi isn’t there by noon, they’ll consider her the one staying and leave without her. Just at that moment the Straw Hats split up. Vivi remarks that she can leave for the East Port at 8am and make it on time if she wishes; the question is to be a pirate or a princess? He asks Karoo what he would like to do.
Bon Kurei greets the Straw Hats when they arrive on the Going Merry. Luffy is doubtful about Bono’s help since he lied about helping them before. But for Bono, it makes no sense to be enemies anymore, because baroque works are history. He says he took the Going Merry so the marines wouldn’t kill him and warns them they’ve blocked all the ports. Luffy accepts him as a friend, but Zoro thinks that Bon is only doing this because he is just as imprisoned by the marines as they are. He admits that it is, and shortly after, the Bon Kurei ship shows up to help.
That morning, the marines find the ship and Hina prepares to enter battle.
