Summary:
When the crew arrives at Skypiea, they are greeted by Conis and her pet Su. Conis and her father begin to explain how life is in Skypiea and how the different dials work.
The Straw Hats are eventually transported to Skypiea with the help of the Quick Crab. Robin mentions the Skypiea sign he sees, and Nami suggests that it’s the same name on the map that Luffy had earlier on the destroyed ship. The Straw Hat Pirates land on Skypiea and begin exploring the new environment. They comment on a fluffy cloud, a fluffy pillow, fruit – Conasshu, flowers, etc. While exploring, they hear the sound of a musical instrument and Zoro comments that someone is present. Usopp thinks it’s a guerilla, and upon seeing the figure, Sanji comments that it was an angel.
An angel named Conis greets them and asks if they were inhabitants of the Blue Sea and Luffy replies that they came from the Blue Sea. He offers to open a Conashu for Luffy, saying that the outside of the fruit is as hard as steel and cannot be bitten into. Conis finally introduces herself and Su the cloud fox. Asks for service if they have questions. At that moment, her father comes to them. Nami asks what he’s riding, and Conis says it’s called Waver.
Nami then remembers that the Waver is the device Noland mentioned in his travel journal, a ship that sails without wind. He asks how that’s possible, and Conis responds by asking if they’ve heard of dials. Luffy tries to ride the Swoosh, but is unable to control the machine. Nami borrows a waveboat and skillfully rides it to the surprise of everyone including Pagaya who says that it takes 10 years of practice to learn to ride a waveboat. Nami asks Pagaya if he can ride the wave again and he agrees. Usopp comments on the construction site he found, and Pagaya tells them that it’s where the clouds are being cut for construction. He will explain to them about sea clouds and island clouds, as well as the technology behind Seastone.
They arrive at Conis’ house and Sanji goes into the kitchen to investigate Sky Cuisine while Robin asks Conis to explain more about dials. Luffy is already holding one when Conis asks him to say something to the clock face. He then tells him to press the top of the dial and what he said is repeated. He explains that the dial is called the Tone Dial. Conis goes on to explain the different types of dials, how and where seashells are found, and a dial using a squiggle.
Sanji brings their food and comments that he doesn’t see Nami at sea. Usopp suggests that she may have gone exploring, and Conis and Pagaya express their uneasiness. Conis tells them about a place they must not go under any circumstances. A place adjacent to the Island and easily accessible to Waver. Meanwhile, Nami arrives at the location and comments on how huge the place is. The rest of the crew ask Conis what she means, and she tells them the place they must never go in God’s Land – the Upper Yard.
