Summary:

Two days have passed since Aqua Laguna, the battle of Enies Lobby, and the tearful departure of the Going Merry. It’s time to gather your thoughts, pick up the pieces, and rebuild your life. Zoro sits alone, holding the rusted ruins of the Yubashiri, once again stuck with the helpless feeling that he didn’t give the sword due respect, leading to his fate.

The backstreets of Water 7 are beginning their annual rebuilding process, although the fury of this year’s storm left far more damage than usual, leaving some doubtful that they will be able to fully repair the damage. Just then, to their delight (and to the ladies’ squeals), Paulie leads a group of Galley-La Company boatmen from Docks 3 and 5, on their time off, to help rebuild with the goal of fixing everything within the month. .

Meanwhile, the Franky Family is hard at work rebuilding Franky’s house, although their lack of construction experience makes things difficult (and the house is crooked). Sodom and Gomorrah are recovering nearby. Chopper gave them both great prognoses: Gomorino’s eye damage is not permanent and they should both be back to 100% soon. Just then, Zambai shows up asking for help: Franky’s “special van” has just arrived at the train station.

Crowds of people are outside the massive gates of Dock 1, clamoring to enter despite a vehement refusal from the boatmen. Many want to thank or apologize to the straw pirates, while several ladies hope to fill the secretarial void left by Kalifa when she was revealed as part of CP9. Inside, led by Usopp, Oimo and Kashii spend some time helping repair the dock. Since Dorry and Brogy are still fighting, they can’t go to Little Garden, so they head back to Elbaf instead. Although they offer to take him with them, Usopp refuses, wishing to find a way to rejoin the Straw Hats instead.

Iceburg talks to Franky in his office. He learns that Franky burned the Pluton plans and agrees to the decision. Since the plans themselves were being targeted, the only option left was to deny them their prize. But with that Franky will now be targeted by the world government. Franky then notices a drawing on Iceburg’s desk. Iceburg reveals that Aqua Laguna’s increasing ferocity means Water 7 won’t be able to stand much longer unless something drastic is done. Remembering how their mentor Tom in Puffing Tom’s sea train realized the seemingly impossible, Iceburg decides on a no less ambitious project: to turn Water 7 into a floating city. Franky is stunned by the idea, but Iceburg reminds him of their mentor, and Franky realizes he shouldn’t have expected anything less. Just then Den Den Mushi rings. Franky answers it and finds Zambai at the other end with great news: his “treasure” has finally arrived.

Straw Hat Pirates recuperate in a special suite set aside for them at Iceburg headquarters. Luffy, as expected, eats hungrily, but Sanji is able to keep up with his captain’s appetite. They are soon visited by Kokoro, Chimney, Gonbe, and Yokozuna (although the latter has to express his feelings from the window due to his size). Kokoro tries to talk to Luffy, only to find that Luffy eats in his sleep: his appetite is so huge. She then tries to talk to Nami to let her know that their Log Pose should be set in about three days. But he finds her in an aura of depression. Not only are they without a boat, but all their belongings were in the hotel that Aqua Laguna destroyed. But then Kokoro reveals that she brought other people with her: the managers of the hotel. When they reveal that they have come to return the Straw Hats’ belongings, Nami is overjoyed: especially since her precious Mikan trees are safe. After the Iceberg attack, it was revealed that they had confiscated their belongings to release as pirate booty, resulting in everything surviving the storm. Just then, Robin and Chopper arrive and soon hear the good news. Now that they have their goods and the remaining Beli100M, they can look for a new ship.

Just then, Franky, Mozu and Kiwi appear with their usual pomp. After the show, however, Franky turns serious and begins to tell them the story of Treasure Tree Adam: how he stood tall even as countless cities fell beneath its vast canopy. The wood of this tree, Adam Wood, is considered to be one of the strongest in the world, but it is also extremely rare as its pieces rarely fall. The reason for this story is that Franky took the Beli200M he stole from the Straw Hats and went to the black market to buy a supply of this wood. The Straw Hats are angry at first, but Franky begs for patience. He swore off shipbuilding for many years (the Frankies were used to Tom after the battle). But the desire to build never left him, and so he ended up drawing the plans for the last ship: a dream ship as grand and as daring as Tom’s most famous creation: Gold Roger’s Oro Jackson. He has the plans and now he has the materials, so now Franky announces that he will build a ship for the Straw Hats as an apology, recognition and reward. Everyone starts celebrating.

Just then, a Marine ship arrives on Water 7. The bulldog figure fills everyone with dread as they know who is in command of this ship: the infamous Vice Admiral Garp, who supposedly stalked Gold Roger throughout his career as a pirate king. Zoro notices this and tries to make his way to the others, but predictably can’t find a way. When Garp finally arrives, he punches his way right through the wall and goes straight to the sleeping Luffy. To everyone’s surprise, his punch wakes up and injures Luffy despite his rubber body. Luffy then shocks everyone even more when he calls Garpa his grandfather.
