Summary:
Shiryu saves Blackbeard and his crew by giving them antidotes to Magellan’s poison before taking the opportunity to join them. The prisoners celebrate their escape, but some, like Buggy, are upset when they learn from a Marine officer who calls Den Den Mushi that they are on their way to Marine HQ and that the gates of justice to Marine HQ will not open. Pirates. During the conversation, the officer reveals Buggy’s past in the Roger Pirates and connection to Shanks, causing the inmates to rally behind him. While some of the escapees fear that Buggy will start a mutiny, Buggy manages to convince the prisoners to go with them to Marine HQ in hopes of defeating Whitebeard and establishing himself on top of the pirate world. Meanwhile, the ship carrying Ace reaches Marine HQ.

Impel Down refugees continue their journey aboard a stolen naval vessel. Buggy and the prisoners celebrate their escape while Newkama waits patiently for Inazuma’s recovery as advised by Ivankov. Meanwhile, Luffy and Mr. 3 look out over the ocean while crying and talking about Mr. 2. Several other Newkams join their sentiment. Buggy approaches them and encourages them to celebrate their freedom. He tactlessly suggests that they could do a funeral for Mr. 2, which earns him a punch from Luffy, who states that they aren’t sure if Mr. 2 is dead. They banter before Luffy punches Buggy once more and climbs to the helm where Jinbe is driving.
The fisherman thanks Luffy for giving him a chance to save Ace. Buggy follows Luffy and they continue to bicker while Jinbe formally introduces himself to Luffy, mentioning that he is currently a sea warrior ready to resign his position. He confidently announces that they should unleash hell on Marine HQ and save Ace so that Mr. 2’s efforts don’t go to waste. Both Buggy and Luffy scream and fall in surprise when they hear the statement. The prisoners and Newkam approach when they hear their screams. Luffy announces his surprise at the fact that Jinbe is a warrior, prompting said warrior to apologize for showing up late. Meanwhile, Buggy is saddened to hear that their destination is Marine HQ. Jinbe confirms this while Crocodile explains that the ship is currently riding the government exclusive Tarai Current and their only possible targets are Enies Lobby or Marine Headquarters. He reveals that the only reason they ran away is to join the impending war. Both Buggy and Mr. 3 hold Jinbe and ask him to stop the ship as the prisoners scream in despair. Okama states that everyone in the land of Newkama knew about it. Out of nowhere, he hears the Den Den Mushi ringing, which catches everyone’s attention. They find her inside the ship’s mast and Luffy picks her up. A Marine officer on the line announces that they have identified the two main perpetrators of the breach: Luffy and Buggy. The refugees are surprised that Buggy has priority over the sea warrior. Marine continues to speak and reveals Buggy’s past as a member of the Roger Pirates crew as well as his connection to Shanks. The Marine officer states that they haven’t found a reason yet, but concludes that they must have the same goal as Luffy: to save Ace. In an attempt to dissuade the fugitives from proceeding, he adds that the gates of justice to the naval headquarters will not be opened to the pirates, so there would be no escape. Luffy angrily declares that he will save Ace before knocking down the receiver.
