Summary:

Koby and Helmeppo tried to flee the war after feeling too overwhelmed by the death and chaos, but ran into Akainu and Sengoku’s apparent plan. Meanwhile, Garp joins Ace at the top of the scaffolding and reminisces about the better times when Ace and Luffy were children and how he wanted them to grow up to be strong sailors. As he laments this fact, it is revealed that Ace’s execution time has been changed when a battleship suddenly falls from the sky, revealing it to be Impel Down and Luffy’s escaped prisoners!

Little Oars Jr. he is impaled by Gecko Moria and tries to save Ace with his last strength, but he soon collapses and destroys everything in the bay with his huge body, greatly shocking everyone with his defeat. The giant Vice Admiral Lonz tries to kill Whitebeard, but soon the Vice Admiral easily disposes of his devil fruit powers. Whitebeard then orders his crew to climb onto Little Oars’ body and advance, to which they quickly climb and break through any marines in their way. Enraged, Whitebeard’s 13th Division Commander Atmos stands up and attacks Donquixote Doflamingo for cutting off Oars’ leg, which he laughs off and claims to be “at the center of history”, quickly bringing Atmos under control with his unknown ability to attack his subordinates . Koby and Helmeppo flee the battlefield because they are too afraid to fight, they find Admiral Akainu confronting a Marine who wants to leave the battle for his family, but this angers Akainu as he states that if he takes care of his family, “he must not live with shame’ and instantly kills him, scaring the already terrified marines, just as Akainu is told that everything is set for a ‘strategy’.

As Garp remembers when Ace is born, the Whitebeard Pirates and allies enter the bay and the ships proceed to destroy everything to facilitate entry, but are unable to do so with just cannonballs until Whitey Bay enters with his ice cutter ship. . Now controlled, Atmos is manipulated into killing his crew by Doflamingo as he laughs at how “Evil” and “Justice” are only subjective matters to those “on top” and how the current war is a “turning point”. Sengoku is informed that the Whitebeard Pirates and his allies have entered the bay, and via Den Den Mushi calls Vice Admiral Tsuru to put a “strategy” into action, quickly disposing of the pirates who attack her with her powers. He calls each marine through Den-Den Mushi, which Whitebeard is very wary of. Garp goes to the execution platform and remembers the past times with Luffy and Ace when he wanted them to be Marines and not Pirates and soon blames Ace for his choice, they both burst into tears and Sengoku understands Garp’s pain.

Just as Koby and Helmeppo are shocked by Sengoku’s plan to kill Ace ahead of schedule, Luffy and the rest of the escaped Impel Down prisoners steal the show, suddenly descending and falling from the sky, later revealed to be how they got there (it wasn’t actually Ivankov’s plan/mistake). Everyone was mostly shocked by the sudden appearance of troublemaker Monkey D. Luffy.
As Lonz is about to attack Whitebeard, the scars on the left and right sides of his chest disappear, but suddenly reappear when Whitebeard blocks the attack.
The first appearance of Luffy and Impel Down escapees in this episode, in which they fall from the sky, is similar to how it was shown in the opening of One Piece Kaze on Sagashita. The order in which they first appear is exactly the same, with Buggy and Mr. 3 first, then Mr. 1 and Crocodile, followed by Jinbe, Ivankov, and Luffy. The only difference is that in Kaz o Sagashita, the battleship and many other Impel Down refugees are not seen falling with them, and that Luffy’s vest was teal instead of yellow, and as they fell, Luffy’s mouth zoomed in on a scream.
In this episode, Crocodile mentioned that they were falling from the sky because of Ivankov. He actually blames the okama, but that turns out to be wrong in the next episode, where a detailed explanation of what happened on their way to war is shown.
