Summary:

The Marines and citizens on Dressros participate in the effort to stop the Birdcage and briefly succeed in stopping it. Meanwhile, Viola confronts Doflamingo, but he easily overpowers her and immobilizes her. Doflamingo then takes control of Rebecca and forces her to attack her aunt as there are 60 seconds left before Luffy regains his Haki.

The citizens of Dressrosa are confused when their injuries are healed, but they only care about getting away from the shrinking birdcage. Suddenly Hack and Usopp appear above them on the rubble and the citizens are shocked to see Usopp wondering what he did to get his five star reward. Usopp says that his friends are pushing the Birdcage and tells every able-bodied citizen to go help them. The astonished citizens say that such a feat is impossible, but Usopp becomes angry and tells them to go, and the citizens fear his perceived power and obey his orders. Usopp wonders if he’s really pushing the Birdcage and asks Viola to confirm, only to realize that she’s suddenly no longer with them. He then decides to go meet the rest of the citizens.

While Luffy recovers and Law watches over him, Doflamingo slashes the Spartan in the chest. When all the gladiators are defeated, Doflamingo yells at Luffy to show himself. However, Spartan grabs Doflamingo’s leg, saying that he is still alive, but Doflamingo shoots him and stomps on his head. Some of the other gladiators stand up to distract Doflamingo for as long as possible, with one of them grabbing Shichibukai from behind to immobilize him. As the others rush towards him, Doflamingo impales them all with a string. Viola watches as she runs through the city, visibly stunned by Doflamingo’s brutality. Meanwhile, a large crowd is forming downtown, but Rebecca tells the citizens to head toward the palace, as the center of the Birdcage is moving in that direction.

The citizens agree, but Rebecca knows that as long as Doflamingo remains alive, trying to stop the Birdcage may be futile. Picking up a sword left behind by one of the fallen gladiators, he decides to confront Doflamingo himself and try to end the cage. However, they see Viola confronting Doflamingo and Viola asks Rebecca why she came. She tells her niece that she wouldn’t be able to face Kyros or Scarlett if Rebecca was killed, saying that as a former officer of the Donquixote Pirates, it was her responsibility to bring down Doflamingo. Viola discards her cape and hairpins, brandishes her knife, and prepares for a fight to the death. She rushes at Doflamingo, but the Shichibukai easily dodges the jabs and kicks before kicking her to the ground.

At the SMILE factory, Franky and the dwarves continue to pressure her, while nearby Zoro, Kin’emon, and Kanjuro continue to pressure the Birdcage with their swords. Zoro thinks it’s slowing down, which Kanjuro initially agrees with, but the samurai quickly changes his mind. Suddenly, Fujitora steps forward, shocking Zoro, and the admiral draws his sword from its sheath. Zoro thinks he’s about to attack, but Fujitora instead stabs Birdcage with his sword and says he’ll do what he can to help. A procession of marines then arrive, with those who could use Haki joining Fujitora and those who couldn’t join Franky and the dwarves in the factory. As the marines help push the factory, the surrounding citizens are encouraged to push it as well, and other citizens help the gladiators push through Bartolomeo’s barrier on the other side of the island. Kyros recalls telling Rebecca to lead the citizens. Eventually, their titanic efforts cause the cage to stop briefly. However, it quickly gets moving again and they continue to push, but now they have hope that it can be stopped. Riku Doldo III and Tank Lepanto join the effort at the SMILE factory, with the former king praising the efforts of the citizens.

Viola stands up and attacks Doflamingo with whale-shaped tears, but Doflamingo easily blocks the attack and grabs her wrist. He knocks her to the ground and says that he would have no mercy even though she was once in his crew because he has no tolerance for betrayal. Doflamingo immobilizes Viola with ropes and pulls her up before turning his attention to Rebecca and taking control of her as well. Rebecca grows increasingly frightened as Doflamingo moves her towards them against her will, forcing her to brandish her sword with the intention of attacking Viola. Meanwhile, the Birdcage begins slicing the King’s Platform, and as Gatz climbs the cliff, he wonders how much time Luffy needs to regain his Haki. It is revealed that Luffy regains his Haki in 60 seconds, which is the time it takes for the Birdcage to completely close.
