Summary:
The Straw Hats were saved from death when Wadatsumi traded the Thousand Sunny with the Sun Pirates ship. The Big Mom Pirates find out what happened and quickly expose Sunny again, but the Sunny Pirates rise up and confront them. The crew is soon overwhelmed and Luffy gives Jinbe permission to return and help his former crew members, telling him to meet them in Wano Country. Jinbe goes to the Sun Pirates and they create a current allowing the Straw Hats to escape Big Mom’s pirate fleet and leave Totto Land.
Near Cacao Island, the Big Mom Pirates look at the burning wreckage left behind by the Thousand Sunny and note that their victory was inevitable. The Mont-d’Or group on Whole Cake Island celebrate, as do the people on the other islands of Totto Land, when they hear the news. On Funwari Island, Perospero marvels at the effectiveness of Pudding’s wedding cake, which has been consumed in its entirety. Big Mom, now at her normal size, lies on the ground in a blissful daze. Perospero tries to tell her important news, such as the escape of the Fire Tank Pirates, but she does not register his words.
However, back at Cacao Island, the Big Mom Pirates suddenly realize that the shipwreck is not the Sunny, but is actually the Sunny Pirates’ ship. Just moments ago, Aladine ordered Wadatsumi to place their ship in Sunny’s place, even though Fisher Tiger had built it long ago. Wadatsumi made it just in time, pulling Sunny under the water and putting him in his mouth before swimming away. The Big Mom Pirates see Wadatsumi underwater and the oven shoots tendrils of heat through the water. One of the tendrils pierces Wadatsumi, causing him to spit out Sunny and the Straw Hats in pain. Big Mom’s pirate fleet quickly turns to chase the Straw Hats again, but Wadatsumi stands between them and catches fire from the cannons. He apologizes to the Straw Hats for his actions on Fish-Man Island and thanks Jinbe for later allowing him to join. He and the Sun Pirates had earlier, out of gratitude, decided to protect Jinbe until they left Totto Land with their new crew and were willing to throw away their lives to do so. Aladine then pulls Wadatsumi underwater and the Sun Pirates rise from her, ready to fight Big Mom’s pirate forces.
The Sun Pirates quickly get to work shooting down their opponents, and when Oven tries to attack the Straw Hats, Aladdin attacks and engages him. However, the Sun Pirates are greatly outnumbered by the Big Mom Pirates and are overwhelmed by the fleet’s cannon fire as well as Smoothie and Daifuku’s abilities. On Sunny Jinbe tells Strawberries and Carrot to drain all the water flooding the ship and fix the sails to get out of Totto Land as quickly as possible, his remarks confusing Luffy. Jinbe admits that he can’t leave his old classmates, and Luffy offers to stay as well. However, Jinbe says that the crew will never make it out alive unless they can escape Big Mom’s pirate fleet, and intends to ensure their escape by defending them from behind. Luffy accepts, but reminds Jinbe that he is his captain and tells him to meet them at Wano Country at all costs. Jinbe then thanks him.
Meanwhile, Big Mom races away from Funwari Island on a candy homie with Perosper accompanying her. Perospero tells her that their crew is currently fighting the Straw Hats near Cocoa Island and Big Mom is looking forward to getting there and using Luffy’s soul to make friends. They pass the Fire Tank Pirates sailing away on Tarte, and Bege is relieved that they escaped. Vito worries about Germa, and Bege notes that Chiffon seems concerned as well, though she says she’s confident the Straw Hats will escape and that she’ll see Nami again. Near Cacao Island, Oven overpowers Aladdin in an encounter and Jinbe goes to capture his mate. Aladine is unhappy to see Jinbe here, but the fish man says that they all need to survive. He and the Sun Pirates then create a vortex that spews out a massive current that pushes the Sunny further away from the Big Mom Pirates fleet. Nearby, on a flying craft attached to several News Coos, Morgans overhears what’s going on and cheers on the Straw Hats, asking Stussy why she’s doing this. Morgans tells her that he believes one of the members of the Worst Generation will become the next Pirate King.
