Summary:
Big Mom contacts Kaidou and informs him that she is going to Wano Country to take Luffy’s head. Kaidou objects, he has his own grudge against Luffy.
Back at Red Harbor, Garp has a conversation with Gion, Hina, and Tokikak.
Big Mom contacts Kaidou through Den Den Mushi and tells him that she will visit Wano Country to personally kill Luffy. Kaidou objects, claiming that his grudge against Luffy was greater. Kaidou previously ran the SMILE fruit operation with Donquixote Doflamingo, but Luffy destroyed the factory and ended the operation. Kaidou wanted to be the one to personally kill Luffy. However, Big Mom refuses to back down and suggests they form an alliance against him.
Meanwhile in New Marineford, the Marines manage to eavesdrop on the call and learn of the Emperors plans to kill Luffy in the land of Wano. Kizaru suggests the Marines intervene, but Sakazuki refuses, as the land of Wano was not part of the World Government and was thus outside their jurisdiction.
Garp has a conversation with Hina about the matter and tells the story of Luffy’s adventures after the war in Marineford. Immediately after the war ended, Luffy returned to Marineford and rang the Ox Bell, signaling the beginning of a new era and signaling his crew members to meet again in two years. The Straw Hats trained separately, but two years later they reunited in Sabaody and continued their adventures.
Garp continues the story. The Straw Hats reached Fish-Man Island to cross the red line. After defeating Hody Jones and thwarting their coup against the Ryugu Kingdom, Luffy personally decided to fight Big Mom herself. He will continue his adventures in Punk Hazard. During his fight against the mad scientist Caesar Clown, Luffy formed an alliance with the Trafalgar Pirates with the Law of the Heart and planned to depose the next emperor, Kaida. In his next adventure, Luffy infiltrated Dressrosa and confronted its tyrannical king, Donquijote Doflamingo. During this fight, not only did the Straw Hat put an end to Kaidou’s SMILE fruit operation, but seven powerful crews joined the Straw Hat’s army.
Luffy continued to Zou Island. There, the Nork tribe and the Kozuki family would both join Luffy’s alliance with Law to depose Emperor Kaido. However, Sanji was forced to separate from the crew due to a political marriage. The crew split into two groups, with Luffy’s group going to Totto Land to fight the Big Mom Pirates and rescue Sanji. Luffy dealt a heavy blow to Big Mom’s pirates as he destroyed Big Mom’s castle, thwarted a political marriage and an assassination attempt, and shot down their most formidable warrior, Katakuri. Although the Straw Hats have escaped Totto Land, Big Mom continues to pursue Luffy for revenge.
In the present, Shanks infiltrates Castle Pangea and speaks with the Five Elders. He wants to talk to them about a certain pirate.
