Summary:

On their way to Oden Castle, Komachiyo, Law, Luffy, Zoro and Kiku encounter a wild tiger. Zoro separates from the group to fight the tiger.

The rest of the group later arrive at the ruins of Oden Castle. After seeing the Kozuki family graves, Luffy is reunited with Kin’emon, Momonosuke, Sanji, Nami, Brook, Chopper, and Carrot. Once inside Oden Castle, Kin’emon reveals that he, Momonosuke, Kiku, Raizo, and Kanjuro are from the past.

Heading to the ruins of Oden Castle atop Komachiyo, Luffy becomes restless and curious after hearing Law, Kiku, and Zoro mention the existence of ghosts residing in the castle. The group notices that they are being chased by a shadow beast, and Zoro volunteers to try to fend it off as the others continue on. Zoro attacks the creature, a giant white tiger wielding a sword in its mouth.

In the flower capital, the scene shifts to a school classroom in the middle of class. The young students learn about the strict isolationism of the Wano country as well as the fall of the Kozuki family. The teacher paints Oden and his samurai as foolish, treacherous men as she demonstrates her strange ability to lengthen her neck to her students. The children see Shogun Orochi as the hero who brought peace to Wano. The old man who is falling out in front of his eyes is very upset about learning in the classroom.

Elsewhere, the town money manager Kyoshiro is drinking with a friend and shamelessly belittles Orochi for being a coward. Robin, who happens to be present at a performance for the two, listens. Kyoshiro reflects on Oden’s wife’s supposed final words spoken 20 years ago before hanging up in the middle of the story. He then goes on to claim that Oden’s wife placed a curse on Orochi that nine samurai from the family would return in 20 years to kill Orochi and restore the throne. Kyoshiro is made to laugh, amused that Orochi seems to be frightened by the dead men’s empty threats.

Luffy and the others arrive at a ruined castle as Zoro’s battle rages on in the forest. Kiku is unable to detect the sight of destruction and remains idly behind. As Law leads the way, he directs Luffy to a cluster of nine different grave sites. Taking a closer look at them, Luffy is taken back to see the graves marked for Kin’emon and Momonosuke. He remembers how he failed to contact the samurai as he approached the island, and Law admits that he hasn’t heard from them for a while either, but Luffy refuses to assume the worst is over. At that moment, a chilling presence begins to stalk them. Luffy and Law turn around before realizing who it is. It is Kin’emon, alive after all, who verifies that he has been suffering from indigestion for several days and has been confined to the toilet the entire time. Luffy, relieved that Law only miscommunicated, is happy to see Kin’emon again, who is then suddenly hugged by Kiku, indicating that he and Kin’emon know each other well. Soon after, Momonosuke enters the scene. He excitedly reunites with Luffy and informs him that Inuarashi has also made it to Wan.

Finally, the whereabouts of Nami, Chopper, Sanji, Brook, and Carrot are shown. After trying to find their captain, the group decided to head to the castle as instructed. Now they arrived just in time to reunite with Luffy and the samurai. Everyone cheerfully welcomes each other back and Law says that it was the bandit who was picking up the food from Paradise Farm and reveals that they should have a clean supply of food.

Kin’emon invites Law and the Straw Pirates to take refuge in the remains of the castle. There, Kin’emon admits to his friends that he has yet to tell them one last secret, but fears that it would be too unbelievable. Luffy begs Kin’emon to tell them everything, and Kin’emon states that he, Kiku, Momonosuke, Kanjuro, and Raizo are not from this time period. In fact, they all came from the past 20 years and came to present-day Wano to fulfill their obligation.
