Summary:
After revealing her identity to Zoro, Hiyori explains some aspects of her past, such as how Kawamatsu watched over her after her parents died.
Back in Sumo Inferno, Hyogoro defeats Alpacaman, showing his knowledge and skill with advanced Busoshoku Haki and offering to teach Luffy.
Zoro tells Hiyori that he is Momonosuke’s ally, confirming that he, along with Kin’emon and the others are all alive. Hiyori explains the fateful day twenty years ago.
When Orochi overthrew the Kozuki family, Toki used her Devil Fruit powers to send Kin’emon, Momonosuke, Kanjuro, Raizo, and Kikunojo twenty years into the future. Hiyori stayed behind so that if Momonosuke doesn’t make it to the future, the Kozuki bloodline won’t die. Both Oden and Toki would be killed during the coup, but Hiyori survived when Kawamatsu helped her escape. Kawamatsu then raised her throughout her childhood.
After she finishes the story, Zoro tells her about the status of the operation. His group found six of the nine red pods, but not the other three. Hiyori explains that the other three are Kawamatsu, Denjiro, and Doji. They then go to bed to rest.
Law gets into a falling out with Shinobu as she accuses the Heart Pirates of leaking the plans. He leaves the group in a rage. They worry about Law, but the town runs into three criminals from Komurasaki’s parade, Bingo, Bongo, and Bungo. They were criminals operating in the capital who bribed officials to ignore their crimes, but fell in love with Komurasaki, who robbed them all and banished them from the capital. Tonoyasu welcomed them to the town of Ebisu, but they continued to be rude to the townspeople.
Meanwhile, Luffy is disappointed that he cannot defeat his opponents without touching them. Hyogoro explains that Wano Country has a technique to do this and demonstrates it by defeating Alpacaman without touching him.
The anime adds the following:
When Hiyori asked about Kikunojo, Zoro assumed she meant Kiku. This was not shown in the manga.
When Kawamatsu claimed to have caught a grilled fish, an imaginary picture of the fish would appear.
After Hiyori talks about Kawamatsu, Toko says she wants to see kappa too.
