Summary:
Oden completes the challenge, but Orochi decides to kill them anyway. The nine red pods manage to escape, but Oden is killed.
The public is exposed to the truth of Oden’s sacrifices, and as he has been taunted over the years, they rush to the gallows to cheer him on, hoping he will survive. However, Oden knows that he will not survive the execution, so he tells his charges to open the earth on his behalf. Meanwhile, Fukurokuju confronts Shinobu for telling everyone the truth, but Shinobu denounces the Orochi Oniwabanshu and pledges allegiance to the Nine Red Scabbards. Thirty minutes passed and Oden was still going strong, so Orochi ordered his men to raise the temperature further.
With ten minutes left, Orochi was getting more and more frustrated that Oden wasn’t dead yet. Through sheer force of will, Oden pushed through the last ten minutes to complete the challenge. Despite this, Orochi decided to break his vows and the firing squad turned their guns on Oden anyway.
After telling his servants to open the land for him, he threw the plank away from the execution area and allowed his servants to escape to Kuri. They remembered their happy times with Oden as they ran away in tears. Kaidou mentions that he killed Higurashi, but then pulls out a gun and shoots Oden in the head. His last words, “Oden wouldn’t be oden,” were interrupted, but the townspeople finished his condemnation with “if it hadn’t been cooked.”

Oden reminisces about his adventures with the Whitebeard Pirates and the Roger Pirates as the execution time passes.
