Summary:

The chapter opens with the Straw Hats repairing their ship. Usopp complains about the “orangutan” destroying his precious ship even more. Zoro comments on how crappy the ship has become and that they should get a new one, which infuriates Usopp. Luffy tells Usopp that complaining won’t help, and since the Going Merry is an important member of their crew, they have to work hard to fix her. Usopp says that Luffy is the only one who understands that warm statement and breaks down in tears, but at the same time Luffy slams the hammer too hard and ends up breaking her even more. Usopp yells at Luffy and Luffy yells back.
The Straw Hats reach their destination. Someone asks who they are looking for again. Robin seems to come on board at some point and says ‘Mont Blanc Cricket’. Nami says “a man full of dreams huh?”. Luffy and Usopp are shocked/awestruck by the castle they see, amazed by Cricket’s house until they realize the “castle” is just a plank in front of a small house. Nami asks Robin what this man’s dream is, and she says she doesn’t know much about it, except that there is a legend about Jay that there is a large amount of gold hidden somewhere. This surprises the crew. Nami orders Chopper to kick with his horns and Luffy enters the house, much to Usopp’s shock. Meanwhile, Nami finds a book titled “Noland the Liar” and laughs as Usopp comments that it’s a very appealing title. Sanji hears this and says he knows that title while Chopper keeps kicking where he was told. Sanji says that everyone in North Blue knows this story and reveals that he was born there. As Sanji explains the story, Nami yells at Chopper for being too loud and asks what on earth he’s doing, much to his shock. There are a few pages about what the story is about.
In Mocktown, Bellamy and Sarquiss laugh when they hear that Cricket is Noland’s descendant and say how they remember when they were young people told them that if they kept lying they would be executed like Noland. It turns out that all the Bellamy Pirates are from North Blue. Everyone laughs that Noland’s descendant is still looking for gold from 400 years ago.
Back on the other shore, Nami adds a line to the story, “…and the poor liar died without becoming a true warrior of the sea…” looking at Usopp to his shock. Staring at the bubbling water, Luffy suddenly falls into the ocean. Then someone comes out of the ocean and it turns out to be the Mont Blanc Cricket, who is angry at the intruders around his house. Sanji tells Usopp to help Luffy. Cricket assumes that gold is their goal and begins to fight Sanji. He pulls out a gun and shoots Sanji, scaring Nami and Chopper, but the bullet doesn’t hit him. Zoro takes his swords and runs to help Sanji out, but Cricket suddenly collapses to everyone’s surprise. Usopp emerges with Luffy and asks what he was doing and Luffy replies that he thought there was a chestnut in the water and when he looked closer the chestnut turned into a man who pulled him in.
At Cricket’s house, the Straw Hats discover that Cricket has dysbarism, which Chopper explains. Luffy is confused so he calls it “mysterious symptoms”. Chopper says it usually goes away pretty quickly, but this man was diving like crazy, so his body didn’t even have time to properly heal. Nami wonders why he would do that, and Chopper says he doesn’t know, but says that in some cases like this, the disease can mean death. At the end of the chapter, there is a picture of Cricket, Masiro and Shoujo together.
