Summary:
With Saul’s words still fresh in her ears, Robin arrives at the Tree of Knowledge and asks if her mother, Olvia, has come here. Clover denies that she came here. Robin repeats the words Saul told her about the warships heading for Ohara. Clover states that a “government ship” did indeed arrive, but not a warship. Clover then begs Robin to keep the fact that she is an archaeologist a secret because no one would expect someone as young as her to be one.
Just then, government workers burst into the room and tell the scholars to stop working. Clover tells them to be careful as there is a lot of valuable information stored here, but that doesn’t concern the agents who instruct the rest of the islanders that the scholars are demons who want the world destroyed. The rest of the islanders have no idea what is going on, for them the scholars have always been their pride. They are ordered to go to the evacuation ship if they have nothing to do with the scholars, and carry identification with them. Fearing for their lives, residents flee to the west bank, where a boat is waiting for them.
Elsewhere, Spandine is shot by Olvia who is defending the island, he rolls over thinking he is finished, but it turns out that Olvia just grabbed him by the sleeve. Spandine scoffs at the idea that a woman who denied a connection to Ohara would arrive on the island by accident. Spandine remains confident that she will confirm that the scholars are studying the Poneglyphs. Spandine states that the World Government has been capturing scholars studying the Poneglyphs for years and trying to connect them with Ohara. Now they plan to make an example of Ohara to discourage scholars studying the Poneglyphs.
Olvia then realizes that the incoming warship is only on standby near Ohara, Olvia is then hit by two agents with Spandine.
At the Tree of Knowledge, the agents are demolishing the libraries, the scholar tries to stop them from damaging the books, but is held back as they continue to search for the hidden room. Elsewhere, Saul spots warships approaching. Outside the Tree of Knowledge, scholars sit and await their fate. The townspeople see them and continue to rush to escape. Clover begs Robin to run to the evacuation ship, but she refuses because others are never nice to her.
Attention turns to Spandina, who now enters the scene with Olvia. He throws it at others. Robin thinks how cruel Spandine is to treat a woman like that. When Clover calls Robin’s name, Olvia looks up and comments on how her daughter has grown. Suddenly there is a loud bang on the tree, at which point Spandine calls out to confirm that the Poneglyph has been found and Spandine informs the others that their deaths have been sealed.
Robin can’t believe what she’s hearing, she demands the truth from Clover. Spandine interrupts and states that their goal is to awaken ancient weapons. Clover demands to be allowed to speak directly to the Five Elders.
