Read One Piece Manga Chapter 403

Summary:

The chapter opens with Sanji sitting on the floor after Kalifa just kicked him. He tells him that Nico Robin is getting closer to the Gate of Justice, or as he calls it, “getting closer to Hell”. Sanji tells her that she’s aware of that, and if Kalifa tries to get in his way, he won’t consider the fact that she’s a woman. Caliph tells him that shouting won’t make the key appear any easier. She also tells him that he doesn’t have to think of her as a woman because she doesn’t wish to live so indulgently. As long as he has an extermination order, he will kill him. Sanji lights a cigarette saying that he won’t give her life and that all he wants is the key to Robin’s bonds. Caliph then suggests they end tea time. He uses Sora, which Sanji blocks. He then comments on how her strength is superhuman as their legs collide. Sanji then proceeds to kick Kalif square in the face, but stops just before contact is made.
Sanji says that was one blow for him. Caliph then kicks him point blank in the crotch. After Sanji writhes in pain on the floor for a moment, he calls her a devil. As he gets up, Kalifa tries to use Geppo, which he dodges by rolling backwards. Sanji then attacks her with a flying kick, which Kalifa dodges by falling to the ground. However, Sanji was able to redirect his kick and pin her to the floor. Caliph notes how fast he is. He yells that he just crushed her with his foot, saying that she lost and should give him the key. Before he could finish his last sentence, Kalif uses Shigan directly on Sanji’s leg, causing him to go under. He runs away and quickly uses the Rankyaku, knocking Sanji to the ground. She tells him that he may be a pirate, but he’s also a coward. Sanji tells her to shut up and tries to kick her, but she dodges with Soru’s help.
Kalifa then reappears, grabs Sanji by his tie and restrains the leg he just tried to kick so he can’t escape. Kalifa tells Sanji that he’s had enough of his empty threats. She tells him that they are going to do something fun where he will die if he doesn’t counterattack.
Elsewhere, Nami and Kumadori moved their battle to the first floor. Nami looks around the corner and wonders why Kumadori isn’t following her. She was relieved, not realizing that Kumadori was right behind her, pressed against the wall. He decides to just run away. Before she can, however, Kumadori uses Life Return to wrap her hair around her left ankle. He then proceeds to bind her other leg, neck and both arms. Kumadori asks if he should kill her by stabbing or choking her. He then recites a poem about killing her. He then tells her to greet his mother in the afterlife. He is about to kill her with Haru Gin Jo, but Chopper suddenly intervenes and is stopped by Kokutei Roseo, who ate the Rumble Ball and activated his Arm Point. Nami is released and falls to the ground. Chopper asks her if she’s okay and Nami thanks him for saving her.
Chopper then asks her if Kumadori uses devil fruit. Nami said she wasn’t sure. All she knew was that he moved his hair like an octopus and that she was unable to counterattack at all. Nami tells Chopper that now is their chance to leave. Chopper argues if they do, then they won’t get the key. Nami then shows him the key, saying that she stole it without him noticing, but she just couldn’t get away from him. He asks how the others are doing. Chopper asks her for the number on the key instead. To his horror, she tells him 3. Nami then asks what the number meant.
As they run, part of the ceiling falls in front of them, nearly crushing them. He sees a beaten Sanji, his body completely round and shiny. Chopper compares Sanji to a glass doll and says that he is seriously injured. Nami realizes that it must have been the Devil Fruit user in CP9, shocked that Sanji was defeated. Sanji apologizes to Nami and says he couldn’t get the key. Nami then looks up to see Kalifa looking at them from a hole in the ceiling. Chopper tells Sanji that he will give him first aid. Nami asks Sanji if he really fought Kalifa seriously. Nami says that his opponent was the woman who was looking through the hole. Nami asks him if he wants to keep his code even if it kills him. Sanji tells her that it’s not like he wants to die, but he was raised to never kick a woman, even if it killed him. Nami called him an idiot, hitting him with her Clima-Tact much to Chopper’s shock.
Nami tells him that if running away is against his code, he shouldn’t bother. She then tells him to leave Kalifa to her, saying that she won’t get away with it. He also says that Sanji deserves some credit for keeping his code, even though Sanji thought Nami said he deserved some love for that. Chopper quickly contradicts him. Nami looks at Kalifa and says she won’t be as sweet as Sanji. Kalifa says she wouldn’t be sweet either and they could get along well. As Nami runs up the stairs, Kumadori yells that he won’t let her get away. Chopper tells her to leave Kumadori to him and restrains him with the Kokutei Cross.
The scene changes to Luffy, who has just attempted to cross the ocean on a rowboat to the Gate of Justice. Chimney and Gonbe rescued him and pulled him ashore. Luffy tearfully told them that Robin was being taken to the gate and he had to save her before she went through. Chimney and Gonbe excitedly tell him that they found a way to get to the gate. They took Luffy to an underground passage under the ocean. Chimney explains that she saw one of Lucca’s subordinates laughing, so she followed him and found a passage. She thought Spandam was Lucci’s subordinate. They stop at a large steel door with World Government insignia.
Chimney remembered Spandam touching something on the control panel, but realized they needed a key. Luffy tells them to back off. Chimney asks what he will do. Luffy doesn’t answer, but instead bites his thumb and uses a new attack, Gear 3, by punching a hole through the door. As the dust begins to clear, Luffy says they are going. The chapter ends with Chimney and Gonbe being shocked to see a very small Luffy heading into the tunnel and asking him why he shrunk.
