Read One Piece Manga Chapter 536

Summary:

Hannyabal (Bentham in disguise) is in the medical room asking about Luffy’s condition. The doctor told him that it was impossible to create an antidote that would counter multiple Magellan venoms at once. There is no way to save him. Outside, Galdino tells him that miracles like fighting Magellan and surviving to tell about it don’t happen. This gives Bentham an idea. He must find Iva, the miracle worker. Bentham discovers that Iva is the only one who can help. Buggy and Galdino are confused as to who he is talking about. Outside the door to the 4th level stairwell, “Hannyabal” tells the guards that he is transferring the prisoners (Buggy and Galdino) to the 5th level. While descending the stairs, Bentham looks at the list of prisoners on level 5 and sees the name “Emporio Ivankov” crossed out and wonders if that means he was released or executed. He asks the guard, and the guard explains that the prisoners with their names crossed out were victims of “demonization away”, an unexplained phenomenon where prisoners would suddenly disappear without explanation. When they reach the door, the guard tells Bentham that he will take his things. It turns out that Hannyabal likes to make it a point to enter Level 5 wearing almost no armor and no weapons to demonstrate his toughness. The warden also says it would be ridiculous for inmates to wear coats as well. Level 5 Den Den Mushi are also shown to not work due to the extreme cold.
All three are then surrounded by four wolves from the Wolf Unit. The reason wolves aren’t allowed on level 2 is because they started eating other wild animals while they were there. Bentham prepares to face them while Buggy and Galdino run so fast they break free of their bonds. Inside the tower cell on level 5, the prisoners sit around a squirming Luffy. One of them asks if they were commissioned to determine the time of his death. Luffy tries to get up and then slams his head into the bars trying to break them. The prisoners try to tell him that his death is inevitable, but he doesn’t listen. Luffy says that he has to save Ace, which the prisoners think is crazy since Luffy alone cannot be saved and that the prisoners should only care about themselves. They look outside to see a half-naked figure standing in the cold. A blood-soaked Bentham calls out to Luffy, apologizing for abandoning him. He opens the door and drags Luffy away. One of the prisoners picks up the keys he left behind and says he never thought about escaping before. Bentham asks them about Ivankov. They tell him they have no idea where “he” went. The prisoner in the next cell points to the forest and says that there is an unused prison office on the other side. From time to time he saw someone come and go from that room. As Bentham leaves, another prisoner tells whoever gave Bentham the instructions that the forest is a den of wolves. The man acted funny as if he had forgotten. Bentham pulls Luffy in the sled, telling himself that he has to keep going for Luffy’s sake, even though there is only the slightest chance that Iva could save him. Wolves appear behind him as he walks. The wolves attack and Bentham is able to fight them off until one of them bites his leg. The wolves then jump on him. Luffy then somehow manages to get up and bite one of the wolves. He yells at the wolves to come back, causing them all to pass out, similar to what happened to the Amazon Lilies. Bentham can only stare at Luffy in awe. The chapter ends with a mysterious figure dressed in black and white with a lightning scar and holding a glass of wine standing over two unconscious bodies.
