Read One Piece Manga Chapter 835

Summary:

The story begins in Chocolate Town, where the narration explains that every six months the citizens of Totto Land will be given the question, “Leave or live?”. Those who choose life have a small round object removed from their body.
Back in the Enchanting Forest, Luffy is confused by all the Namis, Choppers, Carrots, Sanjis, and Puddings he has collected. He cannot understand why they multiply and make animal noises. One of them starts threatening Luffy and it turns out to be the real Nami. After a few blows to the head, Luffy apologizes while Nami furiously tells him that she was looking for him when he ambushed her. Nami marvels at her fake likeness and Luffy asks if they multiplied just for fun. Nami angrily tells him that it’s not possible. Nami turns her anger on the trapped giant, who saw the whole thing but did nothing as he was immobilized. Luffy asks if something happened and Nami explains that their captain attacked them, much to his surprise.
Nami explains that it was someone impersonating Luffy who joined them as they tried to leave the forest. The woman then revealed herself as Charlotte Brûlée. Nami asks where the real Luffy is, and as Brûlée answers, Nami manages to pull out her Clima-Tact and escapes Brûlée’s grasp by punching her in the stomach with her expansion function. Brûlée tries to attack again, but Carrot tries to fight her. Brûlée uses the mirror to deflect her Eleclaw attack back at her. Brûlée explains that she ate the Mira Mira no Mi, a fruit that gives her the ability to reflect anything she wants. Carrot tries to attack again, but this time she is pulled inside the mirror, Brûlée summons Mirro-World. Carrot is now a prisoner inside Brûlée’s mirror. Nami demands Carrot back, but Brûlée tells her not to worry as she doesn’t plan to kill them and asks if they are aware of the situation they are in. Brûlée informs them that Big Mom is well aware of their presence on her territory. In fact, the only reason Brûlée, Randolph, and parts of the talking landscape are there is because Big Mom ordered them to. They are ordered to let them wander aimlessly for a while, but they absolutely cannot meet Sanji and warn them of what will happen if they defy Big Mom. She then commands the talking wilds, calling them “Homies” to make sure she doesn’t lose sight of Nami and Chopper.
A tree root grabs Chopper’s leg. Chopper tells Nami to find Luffy while he delays them. Nami realizes that they vastly underestimated the power the Emperor wields. He promises to return with help. Brûlée marvels at Chopper’s abilities and says her mother would love to add him to her collection. Nami wraps up her narration by saying that she’s been running around the forest like crazy ever since. Luffy calls this absolutely insane and asks where Chopper and Carrot are. Nami tells them that it all happened right where they were standing, but now there is no sign of them. He then turns his attention to the buried giant. He demands to know why neither Brûlée nor her henchmen have even touched him, assuming he must be an accomplice. The giant tells them that he wouldn’t exactly say they were enemies, and promises to tell them more if they bring him juice from a nearby river. Luffy tells him that if he has something useful to say, he’ll be happy to bring him all the juice he wants.
The giant notes that Luffy seems to be quite strong, but not so much for Nami. Nami angrily assures him that she is very powerful. He explains that he thought Chopper was pretty strong as well, but the trees jumped on him with no problem, saying he wouldn’t stop until he accomplished his mission. Luffy questions how they can even move. The giant explains that every six months each citizen is required to give the earth a month’s worth of their life in the form of their soul in exchange for protection. Luffy asks how that is even possible. She explains that Big Mom is a Devil Fruit user who ate the Soru Soru no Mi, which gave her the ability to control souls. The soul pieces then spread across the islands. Souls then inhabit nearby objects and give them feeling. The newly animated objects are called “homies”. The collection is made with pieces of Big Mom’s own soul, “ïincarnations”.
Nami remembers being in Chocolate Town and seeing things that weren’t supposed to be alive. The giant also confirms that souls can inhabit animals. The giant explains that all the fakes Luffy has collected are animals transformed by Brûlée’s ability. Luffy then angrily asks why he didn’t say anything and the giant explains that he didn’t want to get involved. He then explains that he was Big Mom’s husband once upon a time. After giving her two daughters, she rejected him. A figure comes from behind, grabs the giant’s tail and pulls him off the ground. It turns out that the giant is actually just a big man with an even bigger head. The one who took his head out was Charlotte Cracker, the tenth son in the family, Minister of Biscuit and one of the three Sweet Commanders. The man begs Cracker to let him see Chiffon again so he can congratulate her on her marriage. He also mentions that Lola ran away and Nami is surprised to hear the name.
