Summary:
Luffy part ways with Tama and Speed as he, Zoro, Law and Kiku head to the ruins of Oden Castle. In the Flower Capital, the children learn to support the rule of Orochi and the closed borders of the land of Wano. A money changer named Kyoshiro talks about Kozuki Oden’s wife’s statement 20 years ago that Orochi will face his downfall in 20 years, but he scoffs at it because he believed everyone in the Kozuki family was killed then.
Arriving at Oden Castle, Luffy is reunited with Kin’emon and Momonosuke, who confirm that they, Kanjuro, and Raizo are still alive. Luffy is then reunited with Sanji, Nami, Chopper, Brook, and Carrot, and Kin’emon reveals that his group escaped Wano Country by traveling 20 years into the future.
Luffy leaves Tama in the care of the submissive Speedo. Tama says she never forgets to taste new foods and says she’ll take some to her master, and Luffy says he’ll bring Komachiyo and Nidai Kitetsu back later. Speed then carries Tama into the distance and the people of Okobore town thank Luffy for bringing them the Treasure Ship. Luffy, Zoro, Law and Kiku then drive Komachiyo towards the ruins of Oden Castle. Luffy wonders why Kiku is coming with them, and Kiku pretends to tell him that he just wants to see it, when the truth is to be wary of their intentions to go there. Zoro quickly realizes that Kiku is hiding something from them.
In the flower capital, a teacher teaches her students about the benefits of Wano’s closed borders, and the students mock Kozuki Oden and his nine red scabbards for trying to open Wano’s borders 20 years ago. The teacher then gets them to cheer when she declares that Kurozumi Orochi heroically killed the Kozuki family and kept Wano calm. Meanwhile, money changer Kyoshiro, drunk, begins to laugh as he remembers the situation Orochi found himself in. 20 years ago, Orochi’s curse was pronounced by Oden’s wife, who interpreted it as a prophecy that nine samurai would kill him to take revenge and open Wan’s borders in 20 years. Kyoshiro mocks Orochi for believing this and living in fear now that 20 years have passed since there shouldn’t be any members of the Kozuki family still alive and able to take revenge.
Luffy’s group arrives at Oden Castle and Kiku becomes emotional before rushing off on her own. Luffy notices that Zoro has also gone somewhere and Law tells him to go to him. Luffy sees a group of gravestones and is shocked by the graves of Kin’emon, Momonosuke, Kanjuro, and Raizo. Luffy wonders where Kin’emon is, and Law replies that Kin’emon isn’t here, but he’ll probably show up at night. This makes Luffy think he’s a ghost, but then Kin’emon comes out, who was busy with intense diarrhea, and Luffy gets mad at Law for his choice of words. Kiku then rushes over to Kin’emon and hugs him, though she is angry at him for not revealing his return to Wano. Kiku then realizes that the Straw Hats and the Law are an outside force that Kin’emon’s group was able to recruit. Momonosuke then greets Luffy and is quickly followed by the arrival of Sanji, Nami, Chopper, Brook, and Carrot, who managed to find Luffy using his Vivre Card. Law then invites the Straw Hats in for a chat where they can eat the food he stole from Paradise Farm. Once inside, Kin’emon reveals that there is a secret they should tell the Straw Hats before they begin, and reveals that they came from the past and got here by traveling 20 years forward in time.
